Lancaster County, 10 November -- Police here arrested a 16-year-old juvenile yesterday on charges of arson.
The youth (whose name has not been released due to his age) was charged with arson after setting fire to the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Jones, who were not home at the time, although their 15-year-old daughter was resting in an upstairs bedroom. The boy then went inside the house, woke her up, and lead her to safety. When questioned about his behavior, the lad admitted that he knew the house was occupied when he started the blaze.
"I just wanted some attention," he stated, according to the police transcript. "I thought she might like me if I rescued her from a fire; but first I needed a fire."
