I have a 700 MHz Celeron system that seems to be running way hot. The BIOS says the CPU core at idle is 54 C and it never goes below 50. The HSF seems to be working and is mounted properly. Without the HSF, the temp registers at over 70 C. What is the typical temp I should be getting? The chip is not being overclocked and is labled as a 700 MHz Celeron.

Do you think the mobo is spitting out incorrect temps or do you think there are problems with the mobo or chip? The heatsink is warm but not overly hot when the CPU core states 60 C.

Thanks,

Hanson
