damn, while i was writing an answer at another bbs i heard a clunk and clack, opened the case only find out the chipset heatsink that came with the new 8k3a+ i out in this AM, FELL OFF and destroyed the fan blades on the fan I had added.
Man, the 8kha+ at least had the plastic clips, the holes are in the motherboard, but now clips on the new board (everyone is cutting corners, that change may have save .05 in the overall costs)
super glued the fan blades on, Artic Silver and super glue are now attaching said heatsink and all is well.
jeesh and double jeesh.
Ebay, i found what i needed for a home ethernet gateway, and 3c510 from 3com, got to be the easiest way to share a printer, add a firewall and up to 4 'puters on one DSL hookup, silently. i hit the buy now, didn't want to fudge with the bidding ($59.99).
got to be the place you go for older stuff.
