They should not be magnetic, a magnet would stick to them but they should not stick to anything. If the came with the equipment I would use them as companies would not give away money like that for no good reason, those must fix problems that have occured.
In the end if your recordings are good enuf for you then you can take the chance of being somewhere where they maybe needed.
