Laptops really are different, aren't they?

I just ripped an old laptop apart because I needed a floppy (for a friend not me, One of those damned things is more than enough), but looking at this thing I have no idea where the power lead would go. I didn't see one in the teardown, but it was alreay half apart. Can anyone tell me anything? Whether they use different standards, or whether I'm just blind.
