SDRAM density questionq

I've got a mobo that only uses high density SDRAM, but all I have available is standard SDRAM. All I want to do is test the mobo. Can I do so using standard destisy SDRAM, or will I damage something in the process? I figure that the 128 MB stick I'm going to use would just show up as 64, am I correct?
