to sharing across a network. When you throw file/folder permissions into the file sharing mix, it becomes a lot more difficult than right clicking on a folder and selecting "Share this folder". Now you have to grant specific permissions for people to access a shared folder.

In most cases, what will happen is the other user will be able to see your computer and even see the shared folders, but they won't be able to open them or access any files. It can take a while to figure out what permissions are restricting the access.

So, Simple Filesharing would probably be something to do with that mess
