no not a boat anchor. It's only job at the moment is turning in RC5 blocks and a spare for troubleshooting. Different case, power supply, floppy, CDrom Drive, and onboard video is flaky at times. It might make a good car MP3 player, which is what I might try next. My Sister bought it without consulting me and my brother-in-law regretted it everyday he had it. He missed a lot of great games.
It probably wouldn't be too bad if all you did was surf the web and check email all day, but throw in an extra $100 and build yourself one ten times better.
