All I reset in BIOS was the Aperture setting. Upped to 128 from 64 and trust me this puppy is much better. Told Andy to try it on his with a Kryo II and see if it makes any difference. No biggie to set it back if it doesn't. Nothing ventured nothing gained. But on mine, yes there is a difference in the SIMS. But this game loads graphics up the yazoo. It always acted to me like it was waiting on something to get going (Video that is). Always a hesitiation in loading all those objects and Sims. Or switching floors in big houses , yawn, while you waited for the second story to appear. While there is still some hesitation, it is much less and the second deck shows up much faster. Trust me it's noticeable. And I still have to go DT to see if my walls stay put when I turn on lighting effects in the game Video menu, but it did seem last night like they were going to stay put in the regular neighborhood. True test is in the DT mode, when all those little Sims are running around. But even there the hesitation and jerk on the Sims themselves moving around was muvch better. They were actually moving quite well. But noiw to try with the lighting on.

Now the refresh rate problem from what I read on Axcel 213's site affects all video cards. Not just ATI, but nVida, 3DFX, Matrox and so on. It's a bug in WINXP. Not a problem in other OS's.
Just XP and this is a M$ BooBoo! Wait, Hal hasn't found that one yet
