MS allowed OEMs to preinstall BeOS (there was only one who did though because of pressure from Redmond on all OEMs), but the partition had to be hidden and there was to be no preinstalled bootloader with BeOS as an option. In effect, for most users, BeOS wasn't even there.

When WinME came out, they changed how the shutdown/restart procedure worked so if you had BeOS R5 installed and clicked the reboot into BeOS icon, it would not work.

Be concentrated on BeIA because, thanks to MS, they had no chance of selling OS's to OEMs. Stop suing MS? Hell no. I say let the lawsuits begin.

As for the Macs, you don't understand Jobs' vision. He isn't selling you an operating system. He's selling you a computing experience. Yeah, that sounds corny, but go to a CompUSA or Apple Store and play with an iMac or G4 for awhile. I haven't used a Mac in over six years and I could pick up most of the new features very quickly. Everything is slickly integrated and works very well. I would consider buying a Mac, but they're a little too high priced for the amount of stuff you get.
