The solution to get the client working is as follows.

do an nslookup to euro.v27.distributed.net - you then get 4 ips. add these to /etc/hosts like so:

145.89.128.136 euro.v27.distributed.net 145.89.128.249 euro.v27.distributed.net
130.161.38.67 euro.v27.distributed.net
130.161.38.84 euro.v27.distributed.net

save and dnetc -update

that's it!
