Depending on the hardware configuration (and intended software config), you may not want to set up a master slave situation.
For example--If using an Ultra card such as the promise 66 or 100, you can set both drives as masters (no jumpers) and run that way. In that config you can also set up a dual boot which will run two operating systems--one one each drive and if the setup is correct each will have access to the others files.
