I have a Radeon 7200 64 meg video card on this machine. I play the Sims and have all expansion packs. I've emailed EA's tech support over this
but thought I'd ask you all if in any game you've ever had a similar problem and if it was game or video related. The game has been running w/o any real problems until a couple of days ago. I have the latest ATI drivers, VIA drivers, CL drivers, mouse drivers, DX 8.1 tests ok, display is of course wonderful in 2D. But here's what happens
when I load the game (yup it loads up) get to the neighborhood, click on a house, when it switches to the house to play, the house er dissappears. If you scroll up the walls etc appear, scroll down up the sims are there but the house is a black screen w/o objects or walls. If I go to down town level the same thing happens. If I move up a level and there I have one small houe with 2 people the house is ok but if I go Downtown I have the same thing, the walls and objects vanish if I click on them to play. If I turn off
lighting in video I have them back and they seem to stay ok, but that's in build mode w/o any sims running around. I've replaced the level it started on with a blank clean level and the same thing in the DT there. Before I removed the level when I went back to the regular neighborhood, if I clicked on a house it would then kick me instantly out of the game.
Since games are finicky things I wondered if anyone playing any of them have had this problem with the levels objects disappearing and if it was game corruption or video related.
Just thought I'd ask.
Thanks for any replies.
