The bad sectors are there only its hidden from you & if you get any bad sectors with the right software they can be moved & good spare sectors will replace the bad ones. Hidden or extra sectors have been around for along time. Even before IDE HD's, I had them on my ESDI HD if I wanted them by changing a jumper, then a format would make more sectors. HD makers always hold back on new head technoligies to get as much money from the current types as possible. They only improve the of storage per inch most of the time.
You right thou they have broken so many barriers &
you have to love all the storage space.
