Got a 1700+ from Newegg today and it's marked AGOGA, same stepping as the 2000+. My other 1700+ is an AGKGA and it does 1650-1666, so I'm hoping for good things from the new chip.

I can NOT get the damn thing unlocked, though. I closed the gaps with super glue and bridged the L1 contacts with window defogger paint. I've put 3 coats of paint on with no overlap and it's still locked. I even scraped the dots with an Xacto knife. I also tried closing the L11 bridge to set default Vcore to 1.85. Tried filling the gap with white thermal grease and connecting with the defogger paint, and that didn't work, either. I guess I'll be shopping for conductive pens tomorrow - I already know Radio Shack around here doesn't carry them.

While I'm complaining, I got the Epox 8KHA+ to try and get to 166 bus with the 1/5 PCI divider. My old 1700+ on an AK31A will boot at 10*166. Epox won't even POST at 166 bus. At least it hasn't died yet, so that's better luck than I had with 2 8K7A's.
