I have noticed that my SCSI drives (DVD and CD-R/RW) take longer than normal time (over a minute) to access CD-R media (gold disc). However, it is able to access regular CD media (silver disc) within one second. In the past, I had no problems with accessing any type of media and I was wondering why now the problems? I have checked the CD-R media with other computers and they are able to read it within a second.

The SCSI card is not sharing any IRQs with any other card, and the rest of the I/Os are OK. I am presently using Win98SE.

Is this the end of my CD player(s) or are there hidden software problems?
