I use reiser because it's journaling. I have seen a journaling fs in BeOS before and it was just amazing ( pull the plug out of the wall while the comp us copying dozens of files - then boot the machine again and you lost *nothing*; boot time might be 2 secs longer but that's acceptable - unfortunately, linux reiserfs behaves kinda different when you do the same to a linux box )

anyways, a file on the server is just the size it has (ls). But in windows it will say, that it takes up 1MB.

What I fouund out in the mean time is: according to windows I have around 130GB on a 56GB drive ( I checked all shares, ctrl-a, alt-enter and noted the data. ) So, this whole thing turned out to be kind of a false alarm and the drive really were full...

time to get another drive and learn about LVM
