Every since the days when ATI aquired Tseng Labs it's 2D has been the champ IMO along with the contenders Matrox and the now defunct 3DFX. I havent done NVidia because of it's 2D but from what I understand they have caught up (prolly cause of their 3DFX aquisition)...
