I see your point, but you have to understand that online RPG's like this have
large full-time development teams that are constantly adding to the game,
fixing bugs, etc. For years on end after the game is first released. Not to
mention the huge amount of bandwidth such games consume.
Given these large ongoing costs there is no way you could not pay a monthly
fee. Unless the game cost $300 to begin with. It's just the nature of such
games.
