Just upgraded my roommate's machine from a Voodoo3 3000 to a Radeon 7200 64mb. Was a waste of time in my opinion. The framerate is pitiful (on a Duron 800) and the driver installation fell just short of completely re-enumerating the hardware to get it to work. If you run it in super low resolution it might be decent framerate, but who wants to game in 640x480?

Granted, it will be an improvement over onboard graphics. But personally, I would throw in a GeForce2MX400 PCI (32 or 64). Your P3-450 will probably overclock to around 600 too, if you want to try bumping up that FSB. The BX chipset is already pretty damn fast, and it doesn't support overclocking as easily.

Your call, but with that machine, your probably better of cutting your losses and replacing the main components with a midrange AMD system. I can hardly stand my 450 running at 600 with 256mb of PC133. It's been converted to a linux playground for now
