There was a time when MS held the crown on killing WD HDD'S.Pretty sure they were all WD's and he had a bunch die on him. ROFLMAO Kinda made ya a wee bit gun shy with them. In the beginning there wasn't a better made HD than WD. Then they kind of went to H in a hand basket. I think the newer ones are fine again or at least a whole lot better. The 3.2 and the 6.4 I think were the worst of the group. But I have a 3.2 in my granddaughters machine that runs fine. And it was known to die out of the clear blue. The first one I had was DOA and that's the replacement for it. I was looking at a 20gigWD because I don't want a Maxtor 20 gig. Those had problems..if my memory is right. MS would know. Most everyone likes and runs IBM's. They are good drives for the most part but they just had a 60gig? that was bad. So there are good and bad in all of them. Just have to figure out which are good models and which are bad
