It will generate a report of possible issues, both software and hardware, before installing. Make your finaly decision based on that report. But if you're upgrading from an existing 2k setup, there probably won't be any issues.

Most of my issues were drivers (which I remedied by visiting the mfg websites immediately after install) and various utils like antivirus/ripping/DVD software. These were remedied easily also (and Norton's has a nice trade in offer for the XP version), but some required a little cash for the upgrade.

The software problems were because I was migrating from 98SE to XP Pro, so you shouldn't have that problem.
