If this is foremost an Office/Internet/Educational Software machine, the ECS K7S5A might be the ticket (integrated everything), and then install on it EITHER an AMD Duron OR an Athlon XP but NOT an Athlon Thunderbird (known issues, apparently).

If some 3D functionality, and/or DVD, and/or high quality sound is required, the nForce solution is preferable. It will cost you a bit more money than the ECS part, though.
