The MSI board with nForce chipset is about $150 at Newegg.com. It has integrated sound, network interface, and GeForce 2 MX. My pick for a CPU as far as performance/price is the Athlon XP 1700+ (~$125). Add a case, stick of DDR, hard drive, CDROM, and a floppy and you've got a system.
