There may be a large number of devices on the same IRQ, and as long as the hardware that is sharing SUPPORTS IRQ sharing, it should be fine. But I have ACPI enabled, as it should be, and only 2 devices are sharing IRQs (sound and lan).

I bet if he rearranges his cards in the slots according to his motherboard's IRQ assignment table (which should be documented somewhere) he can eliminate the sharing on all but a few of the peripherals.

Or try enabling PNP OS in the BIOS.

Or even better, do both.
