was a post on this board a while back where someone was having minor system stability problems on a Win2k system, and it turned out every single device was parked on IRQ 11. The party in question then did a PCI shuffle, managed to get the devices spread out, and reported that the stability problems were not only corrected, the machine was noticeably faster.

I agree ACPI and IRQ sharing probably get scapegoated too often, but if problems occur and a bunch of devices are needlessly sitting on one IRQ, I don't think it is fair to deny ACPI any culpability.
