Small problem when XP boots up. Appears that it goes through a new hardware find everytime I reboot. When I get to the start screen I have full control of the mouse but if I try to start any programs there is about a 30 to 60 second wait. Usually during this time the dsl modem blinks a few times and sometimes the floppy drive light comes on. I assume it is trying to check to see if any new hardware has been added. Is there a way to turn this off. I'm on my 4th install of xp (for various other reasons) and it always does this.
