the processor does have a silver plate that is glued on to the ceramic core. The OEM fank/heatsink is then attached to the plate.

If you actually want to remove the CPU plate (not recommended unless you know what you are doing), then be VERY careful as a slip of the razor blade will damage the core. The K6-2s are actually flip-chip parts and, underneath the plate, there is a core sticking up from the ceramic.
