HP/VECTRA VL 6/400 SERIES 8DT/P2/400/64M/6.4G/CD

I found a good deal on this used puter. Only a couple of problems
1. it's a desktop and I want a tower.
2. It don't have a modem...I have a usr 56k pci
3. I want to add my plextor ide burner.

I know some of those brand name computers use propriety hardware..meaning the mobo wouldn't just fit in a generic case and it may not have regular atx pwr connectors. Does anybody happen to know if Hewlett Packard stuff is pretty interchangeable with regular stuff?
