When I was working for Supra as tech support (I got the job because of my BBS sysop experience and was an avid modem user) I remember specifically the first time I heard about the web:
"Dude, my brother is messing around with this new HTML stuff, it's called the world wide web. You can put whole GIF's and text and stuff all in a page and view it right there onscreen!" I immediately went and dowloaded NCSA Mosaic (FTP of course) and installed it. The only website I could hit was Supra's internal development server for their "Under Construction" web page. Then this magical thing called Netscape 1.0 came out and I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. Then the shit hit the fan, and I'm sure you know the rest.
Just for laughs, I downloaded Mosaic again just to see how well it could handle current websites. Lets just say that the web, and HTML, has changed quite a bit in the last few years.
