Around 400>500 meg for a minimum install of Mandrake 6; 0r7.2;or 8.;Multiple boot possible;depends on which order you load Os,s;If your installing with windows already installed
,it,s amatter of setting it up when you load linux[as with setting up your windows drive to be visible.]I have a multiple boot of W2000;Wme;andMandrake 8[was 7.2]All runs fine! on a 1gig athalon. Once drives are visible ,importing graphics and other files is a breeze.


Old computers who knows;try an older version of mandrake or Redhat 4. or 5..
