Most cable companies negotitated an extension of service with @home. AT&T was the only one that didn't, and was shut off across the board. The other guys are now able to slowly roll their customers over to an alternate service, if they have one established.

A lot of pissed of AT&T customers out there right now, which is exactly what the E@H board wanted.

And the last I heard, the cable company can't switch you from @Home to their own system without express permission, otherwise it's considered slamming.
