my dad just bought a whole bunch of upgrades including mobo/cpu
so we installed everything and wiped the drive to start over.
First we were having problems with win98 install making a random error and eventually ending up getting stuck saying that a setup .cab file is corrupted and it'll try to fix it.
So I tried copying the win98 folder to the c: drive and running setup from there
That allowed it to get through setup, but now, on and off we get registry errors.
Like, we'll log on and it will say windows can't access the registry, and to let it restart and fix that. So it does, and says it fixes the registry. But it will keep repeating that process, sometimes going away after a hard boot. Now it keeps hanging on the ati driver install program.
I have another computer also that repeatedly reported registry errors right after a clean install.

It just makes no sense to me how it could repeatedly have registry errors right off the bat. what was even more confusing is how it could keep getting corrupted .cab files before setup could finish.
Am I the only one experiencing this kind of shit?
