Only thing you can try is to remove the IDE controller in the device manager but that can backfire if you can't access them later from the CD when on the next reboot the system is trying to look for them.

Usually you can still do it since the respective files are in either C:\Windows or in c:\windows\system. You might have to toggle a few times back and forth but it should work, if your cables and drives are working.
