You stated a copy is loaded & people would assume the whole BIOS.
I think you meant a copy of critical CMOS settings (setup) for your MoBo system is stored into the SRAM by the BIOS the first time it is booted (new or a CMOS reset).


What I would also add is Bios is sitting in a location up high in address (memory) by the old
orginal standards in the last 64k boundry of 1 million
& the CMOS settings are in an low address location under 1024 bytes.
