I either missed which Linksys Router you have or forgot to ask. So which one you got, which NIC's, and which OS's are you running?
As far as File and Print Sharing you only need that if you plan on sharing any files or printers. 
So, if you wanna transfer some files between the different PC's on your LAN, then yes you will need to turn it on. And, of course depending on the OS you will have to add File Shares and configure who is allowed to share them files. However, you should still be able to see computer hooked up to your LAN, regardless whether that is checked or not.
Am I assuming too much thinking that atleast one if not all of your computers are able to access the internet????
