I tried to use the same subnet 255.255.255.1 for both, and I used 100.100.100.1 and 100.100.100.2 as the IPs. With it set like this I couldn't even get online let alone see both computers. BTW, I'm not even seeing the computer I'm using in its own network neighborhood.
