but get down to computers and they're all just boxes and sales talk to the uninitiated. That sales talk I think will be "pentium" for a few more years to come.
As far as utilisation - I'm not a gamer so dont need the immediate gratification of "speed"....however when rendering vid - it would be "nice" to have instant renders....but that will never happen. So you have to look at how much your PC is sitting there doing nothing versus the cost of a HP processor/system.
If you cant afford for it to be sitting ther doing nothing - then the HP solution is prolly for you....but if you can orjinize your day/week to batch up everything to keep chugging way and be ready for you in a couple of days" time...(usually the case) then the high end CPU is prolly not the cost effective solution
of course we are only talking $500 here arent we....some burn that on thier petrol bill in 12 months without really thnking about it...
As for the HS - pardon my ignorance - but I was under the impression that the PIV was supplied with a HS/Fan combo and it wasnt too bad - 50W output only required from the PIV HS/FAN versus 80W or something from the TB's.....so they need the HS/FAN combo espesh at 150FSB etc....
