I don't think that the install disk is an emulator of any sorts. The problem is that this game is horribly ported to pc's! It seems as if no effort was made to actually change the game to reflect the differences between pc's and game consoles. As for emulating the X-box, I don't think that it will happen anytime soon. In theory you probably could, but it would take one heck of a pc for things to run smoothly. A lot of overhead is used in simulating the hardware... heck, the amiga emulators won't run well unless you have a pentium2 or something.

There was an emulator for playstation called bleem. It seemingly was legal and you could even buy it in the store. Never tried it though.
