WinXP for dummies or something. This OS is too new to go posting ?'s about it in a CPU related forum.

System files are hidden by the OS by default. This is different than Hidden files, and is a separate option to enable if you want to see them.

If you want the size on an entire directory tree, just right click on the lowest folder in the tree and select properties. It will tell you the amount of space used, and you don't have to go through selecting all the files and folders.

Turn all those on, and start digging. It could be your paging file is too big, it could be the MFT is using that space, it could be any number of things. Take some initiative, we can't do it for you.

Look at it this way, it's a fresh install. If you screw something up, what do you have to lose? Just mess with it, if it breaks, reinstall. You might learn something.
