Yes I have the Promise 1 and I also used the Highpoint in the Abit...notice no real difference. The Firewall HD doesn't perform as well nor could you Stripe later for any Viding and Gaming which I know you like...That is where the speed increase can really be felt ...Oh and as far as warranty goes most IDE's go for 3 years whereas I bet the FW prolly only has a year
