The port on the back of the computer is evidently outputing a mirror image of the the onboard display, and in that case you cannot make it monitor #2 -- one adapter is servicing both outputs.
And AFAIK Ben is correct, many onboard video chips simply will not work as part of a dual configuration.
The fact that you are seeing the yellow exclamation point in the device manager either indicates that the system cannot recognize the second part as a valid second display adapter, or it indicates a resource conflict. Click on the properties for the "marked" adapter and then go to the "resources" tag -- does it indicate any problems in the bottom pane?
