A week or so ago - there wasnt too many to be found on the market.
I guess I'm a little confused - correct me if I'm wrong - but to utilise the added SSE and DDR bandwidth of the new XP's you need the nforce, KT266A or XXXXX chipset.
These mobos have been reviewed by lostcircuits etc...however their availability is limited.

I was at a supplier in Sydney on Saturday and saw the new XP's - 1500, 1600, 1700's but she only had the Asus KT266 mobos. So I declined to buy a mobo until the KT266A's come out.

Wouldnt mind a healthy thread on ths "state of the nation" in regards to this.

I appreciate the Shuttle AK31 rev is the go but if I buy from her - I'm limited to Gigabyte, Asus or ABit. She offers a 15% price reduction to most other "cheap" suppliers and I have bought much equipment from her - so I'm tempted - but not locked in of course. She sold me a couple fo 40GB SeagateIV's for US$125 ea + cables - pretty decent price here.

Comments please....
1. Whats the chipsets to go for?
2. Whats the availability of mobos in the next week or two having these chipsets?
3. If I were restricted to Asus, Gigabyte, ABit models, which one would be the go with, with and without onboard RAID (although I still think a Promise PCI RAID "moded ATA100 card" is the go for US$45).

My apps - Video Editing/Encoding not looking to OC too much - hopefully to 150FSB.

TIA
