Hope you didn't pay too much for it, more likely the connections on the LCD itself are gone. They are usually impossible to repair, due to VERY fine machine-precision soldering.

However if it is put together like my respective current and previous ThinkPad notebooks, look for small screws housed underneath flush-mounted caps. Hold the chassis against the light and you should see the outlines of the caps.
