My mainboard for my K6-2 got so hot that the solder melted on one of the chips for the chipset, and it fell off. Not too bad, lasted two and a half years, well overclocked. =)

Anyway... Went and got a new MSI K7T Turbo-R Limited Edition, and a 950MHz AMD Duron (Boxed Retail version).

Spent and hour moving my hardware from the old to the new, hooked everything up, and decided to fir it up, using the windows 98SE that I was using in the AMD K6-2 500 machine.

After it did some 'found new hardware' all over, then rebooted, I loaded up the new drivers that came w/ the mainboard, and everything works great.

My question is, will there be any major performance hit doing this, and not reloading windows, but using the windows i loaded up on the old K6-2 machine?

Just curious.
