After reading your new post I realize that maybe the wrong adapter as that link is to a laptop HD to a normal PC's IDE controller. You need to adapt a normal PC HD to a laptop controller ?.
The new link maybe the correct cable, but has no usefull text to tell for sure. You could email them for an anwser.
As for the laptop connectors I can not help you as I have never owned or worked on one you may want to make a new post to see if anyone else knows or trying to lookup the laptop model online.
