It would be foolish to deny that the "basic laws if the country" are based on some principals of Christianity and a lot of other religions for that matter. I think you would also agree that it would be foolish to base our laws soley on the basis of a religion.

As for the ability to change, it is one of the most important, powerful and fundimental principals of the Constution. I shudder at the thought of someone would inerpert the Consutution as based on a religon, and as such, not subject to change. There will be very few things in the course of human existance that will remain static. The ablity to chage is a the basic principal that allows life, as we know it, to exist.

I am not naive enough to think my opinion is right and that others are wrong, nor do I wish to. It is from my own observations that I would draw these conclusions. I engage in these types of discussions to get perspective from others and share mine, agree with them or not. I guess my point is that I am proud to live in a country that allows me to believe anything I wish as long as it doesn't infringe on others. I just want to do everything in my power to keep it this way. If calling for a seperation of church and state, so be it. I hope others will at least agree with me on this and do the things they see fit to perpetuate this idea as well.

To all those who are expecting something on a more computer related topic I apologize. There has just been a good oppertunity for some interisting discussion.
