You dumb son of a bitch! ME is very stable after a default install, but I think everyone would agree with me and rather have a tuned up OS than a default bloated and slow one.

System Restore is for newbies who will kill their OS and need a restore program because they're to stupid to restore it themselves! Disabling it will speed up the OS quite a bit, and what is wrong with a free performance boost? ACPI with any Win9x OS doesn't work nearly as good as it does with Win2k and disabling it has no ill effect unless you don't have enough brains to configure your setup properly (IRQ's). I'm not the only one who runs Win9x with ACPI disabled. Heck people with Win2k even do it!

I wouldn't call disabling ACPI, and System Restore extensive tweaking either ludicrous grow up! Another ignorant thing you said and I quote "and power management should not have to be disabled to make things work properly". Umm power management isn't disabled! The standard power management is still there and works just fine.
