For many months, I couldn't get WinME to behave decently. So many crashes, I was starting to look for my Win98 CD. I didn't do an upgrade. I wiped the drive and started over. I reinstalled the OS twice afterwards. The second install was just as bad as the first. My third install has been near flawless. The funny thing is I performed the same install procedure each time. Even though the last few months with WinME have been quite nice, I can't say it's a good OS because it's too unpredictable. Every once in a while, I'll boot up only to have WinME forget that it's attached to a network. Or maybe it's missing a piece of hardware. It can be so annoying. My Win2k box hasn't done any of this. Mind you there are certain things Win2k can't do that Win9x can, so that's why I still have a Win9x box.

I've been investigating other OS's. BeOS is cool, but hardware support is small. I have a little Linux experience. Hopefully, I'll get to try it again soon. I'm thinking a combination of Progeny Debian, KDE 2, and Wine/WineX.
