I loaded the fail safe settings like you said, and the RAM already starts at the most stable settings. (T3) I'm going to flash the BIOS right after I get done with the BBS here.

The checksum error happens after the mobo scans the memory (and says it's good) and after it scans for IDE devices (I have them all unplugged).
